“Alongside his own Y2K-tinted club tracks, DJ Brewer also produces other artists, shaping the sound of projects like Crafted Musicians and the Hnat Khotkevych Choir. Jazz roots, electronic instincts and strong storytelling keep every release sharp and alive.”
Hnat Khotkevych Choir
Hnat Khotkevych Choir is a big-voiced, cross-border ensemble: singers from Ukraine, Canada, Slovakia and Poland united in one sound. Under choirmaster Michael Hrynevych, a conductor with deep Ukrainian roots, the choir treats folk music like a living organism – something you can push, bend and grow, not just carefully preserve.
In their own projects, the choir dives into Ukrainian ethno and rewires it with new melody, new sound, new dramaturgy. Many of the arrangements are written by DJ Brewer, composer Olena Mudra and arranger Adam Varga, who bring modern rhythm thinking, sharp harmonies and a strong sense of story to every track. Old songs get new angles: unusual rhythms, bold choral textures, moments of silence that hit as hard as the highest note.
In collabs with other artists, Hnat Khotkevych Choir steps into music about today’s Ukraine – war, loss, resilience, small everyday victories. Whatever the format, one thing never changes: there has to be meaning behind every word sung. In 2024, the choir took this energy to Canada, completing a successful tour and proving that Ukrainian choral music can feel both deeply traditional and completely modern.

Songs of My Kin
Songs of My Kin is the first full-length album by the Hnat Khotkevych Choir. It features the compositions that earned the ensemble the loudest ovations during their tour in Canada among the Ukrainian diaspora. Recorded in Bratislava, the album presents a modern choral sound that blends authentic folk character with the scale of rich, multi-voiced harmony. In early 2026, the choir plans to bring this album on tour to Ukraine’s frontline-adjacent communities. The album was released on streaming platforms on 14 November 2025.
